The housing is cheap and clean, maintenance has been quick to arrive and thorough when fixing the small problems we have had, the houses are close to campus, and fair treatment from the landlord for everybody.

I have had nothing but an amazing experience with Varsity. Mindi has always been understanding and flexible with situations, given that I communicate in advance. The properties can be run down sometimes, but if you have any issues, they're always quick to fix it. Obviously, if you neglect a property and live like a slob, they'll charge you for it. It's a great business and I love that they'll stand by you if you make an effort to respect their houses.

Properties are well kept and rent is very affordable for college students. Anytime I’ve had to put a maintenance request in they’re very communicative and address the issues quickly. I would definitely recommend them for students looking for affordable housing.

I currently am renting from varsity rentals, and I can say with certainty that most of these negative reviews are false. We have had multiple repairs done by varsity immediately after we called and reported them. They even were kind enough to upgrade some windows for us. For the upgrades/ repairs we were never told that we would be charged for them so I am taking a guess that they take the charge if it is not something you have done. Mindi is very kind. She is just straightforward which isnt a bad thing. We always have some small conversation when we stop in to pay rent. Overall, I really enjoyed renting from varsity and have already signed a lease for next year. They have been very good to us so far!

I would like to say that I've lived at 500 Crouse street apts for 2 years with varsity rentals and had a complete homie stay. If I had a problem they would send a maintenance over as soon as they can. Although I've never had a problem[I guess that's a good thing👍]. The manager was nice and concise, she will not money gouge you like other places would and they are a legit company. Moreover, the prices they give are actually very reasonable. I would like to give a huge thank you to them for everything they go through. I don't understand these bad reviews? If anything the bad reviews are people that don't understand how life works yet probably. As long as you pay rent on time and leave the place how you found it and just be nice. I'm sure varsity rentals will give you the best experience too! Also, they let me have a chinchilla in my room when I asked🐻‍❄️. Thank you again varsity rentals!

Varsity Rentals manages the house that my roommates and I rent. The maintenance workers are very respectful and very good at what they do. The receptionist is also super helpful and very knowledgeable about what she does. I do appreciate the professionalism offered by Varsity Rentals; even if it’s only student housing, they do a phenomenal job.

I lived at 537 Carroll St for 3 years during undergrad at The University of Akron. I wanted to leave a positive note as I’ve since moved on. Mindi from the office is very kind and understanding. Whenever you call the office, someone always picks up. Dollar-for-dollar, you will not find a better value for housing near campus. Their prices are very reasonable. Maintenance is done routinely and quickly upon request. When our dryer/refrigerator needed fixed, they were done promptly and without scrutiny. I was always given 24hrs notice before any entrance to my apartment for any reason. What Varsity Rentals provides is something not many landlords do in terms of honesty, reliability, and value. I was able to move into a house and pay the rate of my single bedroom in a pinch while they filled the remaining rooms throughout the year. Utilities were a flat rate (only paid extra when usage surpassed a certain limit) for each tenant and I could elect to pay extra during the Summer to run a window AC unit without effecting or being effected by the usage of other tenants. These aspects really kept me from going broke during college since at the very least, you can pay for the roof over your head and pay for the extra things like AC when/if you can afford them at the time. They also do their best to provide security by switching locks for new tenants, installing alarm systems at each property, and providing well-lit parking areas. I take my safety very seriously and these amenities are crucial to any urban rental. I just graduated in 2022 and thought I’d let people know that Varsity Rentals are a fair choice and will work with you to help you find a place to live. Pay your rent on time and check your email everyday like an adult and you’ll understand that these negative reviews are just people who haven’t figured out how the world works quite yet. Renting with varsity has been a seamless experience. Their customer service is great, quick in responding to maintenance issues, I mean if you complain about something malfunctioning today, within the next 1 or 2 days, it’s all sorted out and you good to go. The rent is actually one of the cheapest I’ve come across.. very affordable and the houses are not messed up. They are nice and very habitable. I love that they pay utilities and it’s all included in your rent. Overall their services so far has been great.

Lived here for the last year of a 9 year generational run of guys in my church group. The rent was inexpensive compared to the dorms and from what ive been told they never raised it all 9 years. Always gave us advance notice when they would need access to the home. And the conditions outlined in the lease were fair. When we had problems that required maintenance they were resolved quickly. I think our water heater got replaced in under 24 hours when it went bad. The house wasn't the most beautiful or spacious but the landlords were always good to us.
